Bangladesh vs England 2023

The England cricket team, led by Jos Buttler, faced off against the Bangladesh cricket team in the second One Day International (ODI) match on March 3, 2023, in Dhaka. The English team was looking to break a seven-year-old record as they attempted to chase down a target set by the Bangladeshis.

The record in question was set by South Africa in 2016 when they successfully chased down a target of 372 runs against Australia. If England could chase down the target set by Bangladesh, which was 369 runs, they would break the previous record and set a new benchmark for successful chases in ODI cricket.

The English team got off to a good start in their chase, with opener Jason Roy scoring a quick-fire 50. However, they suffered a setback when they lost two wickets in quick succession, with Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan both departing for low scores.

Jos Buttler, who had scored a century in the first match, once again led the charge for England, putting together a brilliant innings that kept his team in the hunt for the record. He received good support from Eoin Morgan and Liam Livingstone, both of whom played important roles in the chase.

In the end, England fell just short of the record, finishing their innings with a score of 360/7. While they were unable to break the seven-year-old record, their valiant effort in the chase was still commendable.

The third and final ODI of the series is set to take place on March 6, 2023, in Chittagong, where England will look to end the series on a high note.
